Dragonflies in the Sunshine

What’s the buzz about this piece?

“Dragonflies in the Sunshine” was originally written for piano by Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke (1824 – 1910). Reinecke was a German composer, conductor, and pianist, and his compositions include a concerto for harp and cadenzas for the Mozart flute and harp concerto.

This lovely and summery piece is a great study for harpists in fluidity, tone, evenness and overall technique. It requires a light touch and a clean sound without buzzing. We must leave the buzzing to the dragonflies!

I have arranged this piece for pedal and for lever harp. You can download the sheet music for free using the link below. Fill in the form and we will email you the sheet music. You will also have access to a video of a workshop I gave on this piece.

Happy start of summer!
